While it has been a slow start for mixed games we managed to get 21 total entries across two flights for the THO + RSE event today.
The mission was simple – play one or both flights, find a bag (or two) for the day and accumulate your arsenal of chips for a Day 2 run at glory!
One player would prove to be the strongest across both flights, this person also holds the inaugural title of MGA’s first every tournament held in January this year, none other than Joan Allen, one of the faithful and supportive mixed game players that follow the festivals from state to state!
Joan bagged the chip lead in flight 1a with 89,400 and combines this with another 34,300 from flight 1b and will come into day 2 as chip leader on the final table!
Speaking of the final table, here are your potential champions:
Seat 1: Leigh Rolfe – 65,900 (1b)
Seat 2: Grant Levy – 119,300 (1b)
Seat 3: Graeme Bennett – 82,900 (1a)
Seat 4: Gary Benson – 30,900 (1b)
Seat 5: Joan Allen – 123,700 (1a & 1b)
Seat 6: Anthony To – 49,600 (1b)
Seat 7: Ashwin Jholl – 117,700 (1a)
Seat 8: Brian Hull – 27,300 (1a)
Total prizepool $5,386.50

2nd – $1,350
3rd – $1,080
4th – $810
The final table players will battle it out from 12 noon tomorrow at The Cube in Cambelltown and we will play the full 6 game mix of THEROS while finding the event 1 champion!
But it won’t stop there, at 3pm tomorrow afternoon we will jump straight into event 2 – HEROS … this is a $500 buy-in event with another fixed limit betting structure for those that like to grind out the day!
Player of the series update will be provided after the first 2 events – we currently have 5 players registered for the optional $600 side bet which adds a healthy $3,000 to someone’s bankroll at the end of the week!
See you all from 12 … get in the mix! … it’s good for the soul!
