Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 23 August 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of the Mixed Games Academy website, products, services, learning resources, courses and event-related services.
By using mixedgamesacademy.au, creating an account, making a purchase or registering for a Mixed Games Academy event, you agree to these Terms & Conditions together with any additional terms that apply to the particular product, service or event.
1. About Mixed Games Academy
Mixed Games Academy (“MGA”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides mixed game poker events, education, learning resources, merchandise and related services in Australia.
Information about MGA and ways to contact us are available on our Contact Us page.
2. Website use
You may use the MGA website for lawful purposes relating to MGA’s products, events, education and services.
You must not:
- misuse or interfere with the operation or security of the website
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or information
- upload or transmit malicious code
- reproduce or commercially exploit MGA content without permission
- use the website in a way that infringes another person’s rights or applicable law.
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect MGA, our users, our systems or other parties.
3. Accounts
Some MGA services, including online courses or purchases, may require an account.
You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping your login details secure and notifying MGA if you believe your account has been compromised.
Accounts are intended for the registered user and may not be sold, transferred or shared unless MGA expressly permits it.
4. Prices and payments
Prices are displayed in Australian dollars unless clearly stated otherwise.
Prices, inclusions and availability may change from time to time. The price displayed when an order or registration is accepted will apply to that transaction unless an obvious pricing error has occurred.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. MGA does not ordinarily receive or store complete payment-card details.
5. Online shop and merchandise
Product descriptions, images, sizing and other information are provided to help customers make purchasing decisions.
We take reasonable care to present products accurately. However, colours and appearance may vary depending on screens, photography and normal manufacturing variations.
Availability is not guaranteed until an order has been accepted.
Delivery estimates are estimates only and may be affected by carriers, stock availability and circumstances outside MGA’s reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.
6. Learning resources and digital products
MGA may sell or provide digital guides, downloadable resources, educational materials and other digital content.
Unless otherwise stated, access is granted to the purchaser or intended recipient only. Content is for personal educational use and copyright and intellectual property remain with MGA or the relevant rights holder.
Resources may not be copied, resold, redistributed, uploaded publicly or commercially exploited without permission.
Because digital products may be supplied immediately, change-of-mind refunds may not be available after access or download has been provided. This does not affect any rights available under Australian Consumer Law where a product or service fails to meet an applicable consumer guarantee.
7. Courses and online learning
MGA may provide online courses and learning services through its website and learning platform.
Course access is personal to the enrolled participant unless otherwise stated.
Course information may include estimated durations, learning outcomes and recommended experience. These are guides rather than guarantees of individual results.
MGA may reasonably update course materials to improve accuracy, reflect changes to games or rules, or maintain the quality of a learning resource.
You must not share paid course access, reproduce course materials or make course content available to others without permission.
8. Events and tournament registrations
MGA operates poker tournaments, festivals, training sessions and other events.
Each event may have its own buy-in or registration fee, administration or hospitality arrangements, entry conditions, eligibility requirements, tournament structure, re-entry or rebuy provisions and cancellation or transfer conditions.
The advertised event information forms part of the conditions applying to that event.
Participation in MGA poker tournaments is also governed by the MGA Official Tournament Rules, MGA house rules, applicable event-specific conditions and relevant venue rules.
If there is an inconsistency between these general Terms & Conditions and a specific rule concerning the conduct of an MGA poker tournament, the applicable MGA Official Tournament Rules or event-specific condition will govern that tournament issue.
9. Changes, postponements and cancellations
MGA may need to change an event, course, product or service because of circumstances including venue availability, staffing, technical problems, insufficient registrations, safety concerns or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where a material change, postponement or cancellation occurs, MGA will communicate the available options to affected customers or participants.
Any refund, credit or transfer entitlement will be determined by the circumstances, applicable event conditions and any rights available under Australian Consumer Law.
Nothing in these Terms operates as a blanket “no refunds” policy or removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Consumer guarantees
Products and services supplied by MGA may come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Depending on the circumstances, where goods or services fail to meet an applicable consumer guarantee, remedies may include repair, replacement, refund, cancellation or compensation.
These rights apply independently of any additional refund, exchange, cancellation or warranty policy offered by MGA.
11. Promotions, freerolls and special offers
MGA may offer competitions, freerolls, discounts, promotions or other special offers.
Additional eligibility requirements, entry periods and conditions may apply. Where additional conditions are published for a promotion, they form part of these Terms for that promotion.
Promotional benefits have no cash value unless expressly stated otherwise.
12. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, website content and MGA materials including text, graphics, logos, educational content, photographs, videos, guides, course materials and downloadable resources are owned by or licensed to Mixed Games Academy.
You may view and use this material for its intended personal purpose.
You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, modify, sell, license or commercially exploit MGA intellectual property without prior permission, except where permitted by law.
13. Photography, video and event media
MGA events may be photographed, filmed, streamed or otherwise recorded.
Event-specific notices or conditions may explain how participant images, names or likenesses may be used in MGA event coverage, reporting and promotion.
Participants with a particular privacy concern should contact MGA before the relevant event where reasonably practicable.
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
14. Third-party websites and services
The MGA website may link to or integrate with third-party services including payment processors, venues, video platforms, social media services and other providers.
Those services may operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
MGA is not responsible for third-party content or services except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.
15. Website availability
We aim to keep the MGA website and online services available and accurate, but continuous or error-free access cannot be guaranteed.
We may temporarily suspend or alter website functionality for maintenance, security, upgrades or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
16. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, MGA is not responsible for loss arising solely from misuse of the website, products or resources, unauthorised account access caused by a user failing to protect their login details, independent arrangements between participants, third-party websites or services outside MGA’s control, or circumstances outside MGA’s reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies a consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
17. Conduct
Users, customers, students and event participants must engage with MGA, its staff, contractors, venues and other participants appropriately.
MGA may restrict access to services or events where conduct is abusive, threatening, fraudulent, dishonest, disruptive or otherwise seriously inconsistent with MGA rules or the safe operation of its services.
Tournament conduct and penalties are addressed separately in the MGA Official Tournament Rules.
18. Privacy and communications
Personal information is handled in accordance with the MGA Privacy Policy.
Information may need to be processed to fulfil purchases, registrations, accounts, learning services and other requests.
Marketing communications are sent in accordance with applicable consent and unsubscribe requirements.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions where MGA’s services, website, business operations or legal obligations change.
The current version will be published on the MGA website and the “Last updated” date will identify the most recent revision.
Changes will not remove rights that have already arisen under applicable law.
20. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in Victoria, Australia.
Nothing in this clause limits any rights a consumer may have under Australian law concerning jurisdiction or dispute resolution.
21. Contact
Questions about these Terms & Conditions can be submitted through the MGA Contact Us page.
