Know How the Betting Works.
Mixed games can use different betting structures even when the underlying game feels familiar. The structure determines how much a player can bet or raise.
FIXED LIMIT
Bets and raises are made in set amounts determined by the level. The permitted bet size changes as the hand progresses
POT LIMIT
A player may bet or raise up to the current size of the pot. The maximum available wager changes as the pot grows.
NO-LIMIT
A player may wager any amount up to their available stack when it is their turn to act.

Know Which Way the Hand Runs.
Mixed games do not all use the same hand-ranking system. Before you play, you need to know whether the game rewards the highest hand, the lowest hand, or a specialised ranking system.
HIGH POKER
Standard poker hand rankings apply, from High Card through to Royal Flush. Used in games such as Hold’em, Omaha and Seven Card Stud.
LOWBALL & SPECIALIST RANKINGS
Some mixed games reward the lowest hand or use a different ranking system entirely. These include Ace-to-Five, 2-7 and Badugi-style rankings.

Know What Game You're Playing.
Mixed game poker moves between different games during the same session or tournament. The rotation tells you which games are being played and the order in which they appear.
THE ROTATION
A rotation is the list of games being played. Some mixes repeat a fixed sequence, while others may use a different format.

Before acting, identify which game is currently being dealt. The betting structure, hand ranking and way the cards are dealt may have changed.
