Australian Mixed Games Championships – Postponed, But Coming Back Stronger

Dear players and supporters,

It’s with a heavy heart — but also a clear head — that we need to announce the postponement of the Australian Mixed Games Championships, originally scheduled for October 31 – November 6, 2025 at St George Leagues Club in Sydney.

This decision wasn’t made lightly. As many of you know, our series was set to run alongside the Kings Poker Sydney Millions. However, when another major operator made changes to their dates, Kings were forced to adjust theirs. Unfortunately the date change doesn’t fit for the mix.

If dates remained it would have left us with an unfortunate overlap of three major series in the same week. And as much as we were excited to launch the Championships in Sydney, the last thing we want is to put players in a position where they have to choose between competing events, 40-50mins apart.

Why We’re Postponing

Mixed games deserve their own stage. The goal of this Championship has always been to showcase the full spectrum of poker — from Stud and Omaha to 2-7 Triple Draw, H.O.R.S.E, and Dealer’s Choice rotations with 25+ games. We want players to enjoy a festival that celebrates variety, skill, and community, without the distraction of competing series.

By postponing, we give ourselves the chance to:

  • Secure new dates and location that let the Championship shine.
  • Ensure the event gets the full attention and participation it deserves.
  • Build on the excitement to deliver a festival that’s even bigger, deeper, and more memorable.

What Stays the Same

✅ The game mix and event structures we’ve designed are still locked in.
✅ The Cock of the Walk – Player of the Series race will go ahead.
✅ Our commitment to creating Australia’s premier mixed game festival has never been stronger.

What’s Next

We’re already working on confirming new dates and a host venue. As soon as details are locked, you’ll hear from us directly.

In the meantime, we want to thank you — our community — for your ongoing support and passion. Every message, every question, every player who turns up to battle across the variants… you are what makes Mixed Games Academy special.

Stay tuned — the Australian Mixed Games Championships isn’t cancelled, just delayed. And when it returns, it’ll be worth the wait.

See you at the tables,
Shannon Van Den Berg & the Mixed Games Academy Team
