MGA launched mixed game tournaments in January 2023. With a focus on bringing you the very best structured and smoothly run games, MGA are the first and only operators in Australia to take to challenge of bringing these variants to a venue near you!
Player Training
MGA offer both live and online training where players can cross the ‘great divide’ from No limit holdem to, well, every other game being played in the WSOP and other popular series in the world everyday.
Come along and learn what draw and stud games are, how fixed limit betting works and simply add more strings to the bow when walking into a card room.
The basic level of training that will be provided will enable you to have to skills to navigate the tournament, have an understanding of the games, betting process and procedures as well as explanation of terms and ‘accepted actions’.
The training provided is interactive and delivered in a fun environment with a “there are no silly questions” attitude. The training will be delivered by MGA’s own Shannon “Prince” Van Den Berg in a variety of mediums. Should the numbers in the sessions allow then there may be the ability to play a live game or at very least deal some hands of each discipline.
So if you have always wanted to try your hand at mixed games, or maybe you haven’t even considered it but are open to learning new things then I encourage you to take advantage of the free training sessions being offered at the Eatons Hill Hotel, January 2023.
Please note that it is not intended for these sessions to be ‘intermediate’ or ‘advanced’ strategy sessions as there are many books written by well accomplished players covering this. So if it’s a basic understanding of how the games work and are played then we have you covered. If you are after deep GTO advice on every variation, then these sessions may not be for you but they will provide current and up to date information on some processes that may have changed since you started your journey.
